xQc Warned Halo Infinite Devs

Twitch streamer xQc  is one of the platform’s most well-known and followed creators. The streamer has a large following, and it’s safe to say that xQc has a large presence with the game developers of the titles he plays.

When it comes to expressing his ideas, xQc is always forthright and direct. He’s done it before, and he’s done it again. The Halo Infinite game developers were cautioned by the streamer about the statistics and launch-day stats. He warned Halo not to make the same error that ‘Overwatch’ did, which resulted in the game’s death.

When a viewer commented on the game’s success on launch day and how it may be a “very good sign” for Halo, xQc passionately disagreed stating; “This is the same mistake as Overwatch. [People keep saying] 200k at launch… so cool, Halo is huge! But it might not stay that way.”

In a sarcastic tone, he added; “Let’s keep boasting these hype, announcement-driven analytics from one day for months, years. That’s a good idea, never gone wrong before.”

What was Overwatch’s mistake though? xQc explained that when he said “Overwatch did that, said “34 million” for years, but it was stagnating. “34 million! ” they say, but on a good day 8k were watching, and not many more playing.” He said about Infinite’s chances to stay popular; “I think people have moved on from Halo. It’s slow and outdated. It lacks serious pace in its gameplay.”

On the day of Halo’s surprise release, many gamers jumped on board. Dr Disrespect, one of them, streamed for eight hours, far longer than his regular stream time, because he was so interested in the game. He was gushing over Halo Infinite.
