WillNeff Talks Contract Negotiations

Following his return from TwitchCon 2022, Twitch streamer Will Neff presented a Just Chatting livestream on October 11th. Will Neff claimed that his Twitch contract renegotiation was purposefully delayed while interacting with his audience.

He claimed that Twitch informed him that his contract will end the next month in September. After speaking with Twitch representatives about this contract renewal, they asserted that the streamer was needed to give a 90-day “heads-up.” Will expressed his strong opinions on the subject and said: “F**k you! They know why they do it. They do it to f**k you over. I’m tired of this s**t, bro!”

The content creator from 100 Thieves spoke about his TwitchCon 2022 experience at the hour point of his broadcast on October 11. In order to “keep things real” with his viewers, he declared, he will talk about his contract negotiations with Twitch. He stated: “I’m going to keep it real, and I’m going to fill you guys in on something. Something that you should know. It was time for me to renegotiate my Twitch contract, and I reached out, and I was like, ‘I want to renegotiate my Twitch contract,’ and they’re like, ‘Hold on! We’ll tell you when your Twitch contract ends.'”

Twitch finally informed the streamer in September that his contract will expire in October after patiently waiting: “Time goes by, time goes by, time goes by, and they go, ‘Oh, it’s up in October.’ Great! I get this message in September. I’m like, ‘Perfect! I’d like to renegotiate in October.'”

Officials from Twitch responded to the request and said they needed 90 days to handle the contract renegotiation: “‘Can’t do that. We need a 90-day heads-up.’ Huh?! You suspect 30 days, waiting to tell me when my contract is up. Why the f**k do you need 90 days to renegotiate my contract?! You need a quarter of a f***ing year heads-up?! F**k you!”

Will Neff claimed to be “weary” of Twitch’s antics and that he was unable to defend the Amazon-owned livestreaming service any longer: “I can’t come to Twitch’s defense anymore! Your whole identiy is that you’re the ‘creator-first’ platform. You’re not anymore. You’re not! Let’s get that out of the picture. Let’s get that out of the f***ing picture! You’re not!”

Will Neff continued the conversation by asserting that YouTube was “killing” Twitch and that because of their audiences, the majority of content producers had not switched platforms: “YouTube is killing you. Absolutely s***ting on you! If there’s any reason that we haven’t left, is that our audience is here. Right? In the last year, what victory can we speak to? In the last year, what has like, Twitch creators can be like, ‘Sick! I’m glad they’d do that.’ Nothing!”
