Valorant Pro Shanks Exposes Stream Sniper

Ryan Ngo, famously known online as Shanks, a VALORANT pro, was recently matched against an alleged stream sniper who may have revealed himself by observing his opponent during their play.

No streamer or player is happy being stream sniped in real time. Stream sniping, which goes back to the days of split-screen multiplayer, allows players in the same lobby to see where you are on a map and utilize that information to their advantage. To say the least, it’s unfair, and some streamers have resorted to playing with a slight delay to protect themselves at the expense of a delayed chat engagement.

While viewers may not be able to connect to the challenges of the stream sniper, ads are a different story, and it was ads that seemed to reveal Twitch streamer ‘atlidx’ when he was partnered with Shanks.

Atlidx appeared to be looking at another screen during the game, and an ad began to play in the background. The ad started before being shut off, presumably due to atldix muting it.

Upon finding out about it, Shanks later tweeted the clip while captioning, “at least he doesn’t have AdBlock on.”

Atlidx, on the other hand, denies stream sniping accusations but not that Twitch advertising were used. According to the streamer, he was watching a live broadcast on Twitch since a friend recommended it. He also claims that he had more viewers than usual to keep up with in conversation, thus he was frequently gazing at his second monitor rather than watching Shanks’ stream.
