Valorant Fans Demand Nerfs For Jett

Valorant fans are looking for some nerfs to Jett ahead of VCT Champions in December, after an incredibly strong showing at Masters: Berlin.

Masters: Berlin, Valorant’s second-ever international tournament, is approaching its end, and fans are urging Riot to nerf Jett, the game’s most popular agent. Jett is aimed at the young and talented aimers. The agent’s primary purpose is to be irrationally violent, yet it makes little difference because she can easily weave in and out of confrontations with her sprints.

Hundreds of thousands of dollars were on the line, as well as a spot in the 2021 Valorant Champions Tour finale in December, when 15 teams competed in Berlin during the past week. It’s no surprise that Valorant’s most popular player is picked virtually the entire tournament in order to establish who deserves a spot at Champions, but some say she’s overpowered.

Despite the fact that there are four other duelists in Valorant with a similar playstyle, Jett had an 84 percent pick rate at Masters: Berlin, compared to 28 percent for the following duelist. The agent’s influence can be seen in the pick rates alone, and fans are clamoring for nerfs. A post on Valorant’s competitive subreddit went viral, highlighting the agent’s flaws as well as the current meta. They said; “Berlin is showing how overpowered Jett is.” “It feels impossible to challenge a Jett player who is doing well, and the only way to solve it is to use the 100t strategy of finding where that player is and just running away.”

Other Valorant players spoke up as well, highlighting another agent, Skye, who is considered as one of the game’s strongest, with her healing adding to the issue. They said, “The Skye meta makes it much worse because the Jetts are healed back to 100.”

While Valorant players and fans agree that adjustments are needed, Riot has given no indication that anything would be done. Riot places a strong emphasis on in-game statistics, and while they value community feedback, they are unlikely to make any adjustments until the game’s most important event.
