Valkyrae Joked About ‘Blue Light’

Popular streamer Rachell Hofstetter aka Valkyrae has previously made headlines for all the wrong reasons when she unveiled her RFLCT skincare products, but she’s seen the funny side and is already cracking jokes about it.

When the RFLCT skincare controversy initially broke, it sparked a lot of debate in the gaming world. RFLCT was announced by Valkyrae as a solution to defend against the risks of blue light emitted by our screens, but it was rapidly panned.

Many critics called it a con or misrepresentation, claiming that the benefits of blue light were exaggerated and that it was just a money-making scheme.

While the backlash clearly affected Rae, she’s slowly working her way through it, resuming her regular streaming and playing with friends.

While she didn’t like fellow streamers like Mizkif making jokes about the issue, Valkyrae is clearly seeing the funny side of things and is able to laugh at herself as a result. During her recent stream, a viewer asked how her eyes were so blue and in response to this, she joked; “You see, I used so much of my blue light cream, it just infused with my eyeballs, and now I have blue eyes. Now I deflect blue light from screens automatically.”

Her viewers appreciated it when she said that “you guys missed out, you could have blue eyes too.” Valkyrae’s chat appeared delighted to join in on the fun, joking that the joke came “too soon,” no doubt relieved to see the dust settle for their favorite streamer.
