Valkyrae Gets Emotional

Valkyrae was overcome with emotion when she saw Pokimane win the Legacy Award at The Streamer Awards, and the main reason for this is that she believes Poki earned it after everything she’s accomplished.

Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys and Rachell ‘Valkyrae’ Hofstetter had been friends for a long time. They not only worked together on stream over the years, but they also lived together in the same house. She told fans in 2021 that she loves Poki with her “whole heart and soul” and considers her a “little sister,” so it’s hardly unexpected that she was moved by Poki’s Legacy Award win at The Streamer Awards.

However, she went into greater detail about it on live, revealing that it came down to two factors. She first saw Poki cry after she won, which made her cry as well. Second, she believes it was well-earned.

She said with a hint of excitement; “Poki won the Legacy Award! It was at the very end. They showed this highlight reel, and I was crying! Poki was sitting next to me. I looked over to her, and she was tearing up!”

The two of them are so close, it made her cry too. “I could just tell that she was so grateful and felt so appreciated. I started sobbing because she was just sobbing. It was so cute. It was actually so cute. I loved it so much.”

But that wasn’t the only thing that moved her to tears. It’s also because she believes Poki deserved to receive the award after all she’s accomplished in the streaming industry thus far, and she’s happy to see it happen.

“I am so glad she won because she deserves it. She paved the way for so many gamers and streamers. She’s been around forever. She’s been the first to do so many things in this industry. It was well deserved!”

Rae didn’t win an award during the program, despite the emotional moment. She was nominated alongside Disguised Toast, Ludwig, and MoistCr1TiKaL for Best Variety Streamer, which was won by the latter. Nonetheless, she was ecstatic to see her friends win. The Streamer Awards were a great hit, taking over Twitch for the duration of the show and attracting 380,000 viewers at its peak. As a result, there’s a strong chance we’ll see it again, and Rae may even win an award.
