TeeP Offers His Opinion on Hack Accusations Against Big Streamers

TeeP knows Call of Duty like no one else, from pro to warzone. Tyler ‘TeeP’ Polchow’s take on Warzone hackers is simple: “tiring.” Like most players in top-tier lobbies, he deals with several hackers on a daily basis. And it’s perhaps because of this exhaustion that he’s as enthusiastic about the planned anti-cheat as he is about the shiny new map.

TeeP and other popular streamers, although continuously fighting hackers, are accused of cheating themselves. And, while that would undoubtedly irritate him, he believes the claims are reasonable. Casuals may find the play of a Warzone pro unnatural. This is due to a combination of talent, time spent playing, and how the game plays on a high-end PC versus a standard console. TeeP concedes that his arrangement improves performance, but he doesn’t believe that this discrepancy is to blame for ‘hackusations.’

The bulk of Warzone players play on consoles, whereas the majority of pros and streamers use high-end PC rigs with higher graphics, frame rates, and FOV sliders. TeeP also takes use of three more peripherals to assist him compete at a higher level: audio, controller, and monitor.

TeeP utilizes a pair of JBL Quantum Ones, which come with associated PC software, as he explains, “high-quality audio is a top priority in the professional scene.” He explained when asked why he’s collaborated with the brand and favors the Quantum One saying; “It delivers the most precise in-game audio and allows me to configure everything that I want in the PC software that comes with it.”

The streamer has also been utilizing SCUF controllers for over a decade as he added; “It has paddles, so I don’t have to worry about playing claw and can keep my hands fresh.”

Finally, TeeP believes that high-end “monitors are an easy way to have a leg up on the competition,” citing the transition to 1440p resolution (with a 240hz refresh rate) as a factor in reducing tiredness. As a result, your setup can improve your hearing and vision while also reducing hand strain and tiredness. It’s no surprise, then, that professional gamers have such an advantage over casual players, who are essentially playing a limited version of the same game.

So we asked if TeeP thinks the benefits of a high-end setup might explain why streamers are so often accused of hacking by those with more-limited experiences. While he acknowledges that “it could be part of it,” he believes there is a more straightforward explanation.

He says; “Cheaters have been a big problem for so long now on CoD and Warzone that it’s not unfair for people to think this way.”

With so many hackers causing havoc, fans may be wary of anyone with a K/D of three or more. However, Warzone Pacific is on its way, along with the RICOCHET Anti-Cheat. If the latter is successful, fewer hackers and, as a result, fewer streamer hackusations should be expected. Maybe then, instead of merely hacking, we’ll be able to blame headsets for broadcasters being so strong at the game.
