T1 Brax Steps Away From Valorant

Braxton Pierce AKA “brax” of T1 recently announced that he will step away from competitive play in VALORANT to focus on streaming full-time.

When the game first came out, the former Counter-Strike prodigy switched to VALORANT in an attempt to restart his career and move on from his Counter-Strike days. Along with many of his former Counter-Strike teammates, he joined T1 in the first iteration of their VALORANT roster and moved to the bench after several missed opportunities at tournaments, where he was later picked up by TSM. His time with TSM, however, was brief, as he only participated in one tournament before returning to T1.

After a year of attempting to compete in VALORANT, brax has decided to devote his time to streaming full-time. The announcement was made via TwitLonger, in which Brax explained that his mental state was not conducive to competing at the time.

“As much as I enjoy competing, I am super excited to get back on the stream grind and be with my awesome community,” brax wrote on Twitter. “For those wondering where I’ve been, I felt it was imperative to take a step back and focus on my personal life, essentially reclaiming my happiness after a crazy year of ups and downs both in and out of the game.”

Brax continues to work as a streamer for T1.

While Brax stated that he would not be competing for the time being, he did state that he would remain with T1. Instead of competing with them, Brax will now take on the role of content creator. T1’s people, according to Brax, smoothed out the transition.

“I’d like to thank Joe Marsh, Wawa, and everyone at T1 for making this transition so seamless, and I’m glad I can still represent this legendary organization, even if it’s through a different lens,” brax said.

With over 500,000 Twitch followers, Brax will have a sizable fanbase cheering him on as he settles into his new streaming schedule.
