Suspension of WWE Superstars Accounts

WWE Superstars who are also Twitch streamers have released statements on the latest development of WWE’s third party deals. WWE told their Superstars that they are no longer permitted to accept third party deals. This controversial decision received a lot of attention and even caused the company to be dragged on live on CNN. It seems that this is not a cut and dry issue. Because of this, WWE’s Superstars, such as AJ Styles, who was the most popular Twitch streamer from WWE announced that due to his discord, his Twitch channel StylesClash will be suspended for now.

AJ Styles stated that the reason behind his break on the streaming platform was because WWE was making changes about the Superstars streaming ventures. According to the former Democratic Presidential candidate Andrew Young, WWE intends to take control of the Twitch accounts of the WWE’s Superstars. He revealed that WWE was allegedly forcing the talent to sign new contracts with a Twitch clause. He posted it out on Twitter wherein he stated; “Hearing from talent that WWE is forcing performers to sign new contracts that include Twitch. Streaming on Twitch will become a work obligation and if talent doesn’t stream they will forego earnings, be suspended or face penalties. Doesn’t sound like independent contractors”.

AJ Styles is not the only one who has been forced to take a break because of this. Even Mia Yim tweeted out on Twitter that she will not be streaming for the time being. Same as Aleister Black, Zelina Vega and Cesaro who were revealed to have their final stream on Thursday and that they didn’t know when they would be returning to stream again.
