Surefour in need of a Break

Lane Roberts aka Surefour is one of the most well-known Overwatch players in the world and a Twitch streamer. He has been streaming for six hours per day in the last seven days, mainly playing World of Warcraft. He recently announced through a Twitter post that he will be taking a break from playing the competitive Overwatch.

Surefour didn’t mention the specific reason for his break and also he didn’t mention if he will be returning to pro play after the 2021 season. It’s unclear if Surefour will turn to streaming Overwatch or if he wants a break from the gaming and eSports scene altogether. Many are asking as to why he is leaving the Overwatch league. During the 2020 season, Surefour played with the Toronto Defiant, but then Toronto Defiant didn’t re-sign Surefour for the 2021 season, meaning that he was set up to be a free agent going into next season. Many Overwatch League pros have retired from pro play due to stress and the strenuous schedule.

Surefour tweeted out on Twitter; “I’ll most likely be taking a break from OWL next season. I’ve dealt with a lot the past 3 years and wasn’t in a great state of mind because of it. But, meeting a bunch of new people and hanging out with them has corrected it a bunch. So it’s prob for the best to take a breakā€.
