Streamer Sunlihyt Says Kick Made Her Change Her Name

Sunlihyt, a Twitch streamer, says that Kick forced her to change her name because it was “reserved” for someone else despite being in use.

The Twitch streamer Trainwreck launched the broadcasting network Kick in late 2022, and it has exploded in popularity since. It hasn’t been without problems, though, as it initially had a problem with sexual material on a number of streams. Despite claiming the name just minutes after the platform debuted, Twitch streamer Sunlihyt has complained on Twitter that Kick forced her to change it because it was “reserved” for another user.

The Twitch streamer announced on March 21 that Kick had removed her username in order to “give it to a Twitch partner.”

She said; “Kick took my active username to give it to a twitch partner mmm yea idk about this switch lol,”

A screenshot of the email she got from Kick was also shared by the streamer, whose real name is Alyssa. It reads; “Thank you for reaching out to us. The username “Lyss” was reserved for another user, and it was returned to them upon their request. As an apology for the inconvenience, we could help you change your username to a variation of the one you had if you wish to do so.”

In response, Alyssa acknowledged that she had been using it for two months prior to Kick forcing her to change her identity. However, Kick users who responded to her tweets said they had witnessed it occur to other artists in the past. At the time this article was written, Kick had not yet replied to Alyssa’s tweets, and she had stopped using the site altogether.
