Pokimane Asks Fans Not To Vote For Her

Imane “Pokimane” had a message for her audience and followers. The Twitch celebrity was informed during a recent stream that she has been nominated for the “Legacy Award” at the upcoming awards show The Streamer Awards, hosted by QTCinderella.

Pokimane thanked her followers and QTCinderella for hosting the annual award show, but urged them not to vote for her. She didn’t mean to offend the awards or the other nominees; she only wanted someone else to win the prize category. The streamer commented as she discussed the subject.

Pokimane had just started her daily livestream and had been doing so for about 20 minutes. On Twitch chat, she was interacting with her fans as usual until the issue of QTCinderella’s new award show came up. In her chat, a viewer asked if the streamer could comment on the first 15 minutes of QTCinderella’s podcast, since the viewer was curious about Poki’s thoughts on it. She then realized she had a special message for her devoted viewers regarding an upcoming award presentation hosted by the same content creator.

She continued after informing her fans that she didn’t want them to vote for her, saying: “I do appreciate it a lot.” She then acted out in her Twitch chat what the chat had been spamming. “Oh, the misery!”

The Twitch streamer went on to explain her reasoning for her statement: “Yeah, I am flattered that everybody voted for me, so thank you, but you don’t really need to… if anything like, I think it’s more hype when people get like, their first award or whatever. I have always felt weird promoting award shows. Ever since I won Shorty Awards, I kinda just stopped promoting award shows because most of the larger ones… I mean I don’t wanna get too into it because I think it’s weird. But QT’s is just run by her and it’s for the community, by the community, so that is the one I like.”
