Phasmophobia Pet Tribute

Despite the fact that phasmophobia is a terrifying condition, one streamer’s game is interrupted when they see a picture of their pet in the game.

Many horror content creators, gamers and streamers have been checking out the new Phasmophobia Halloween “nightmare” update since it went live yesterday. With a new map and four new ghosts, as well as a slew of other changes, the Phasmo patch has undoubtedly been a significant update worthy of this spooky season. It’s not all about the jump scares, as a Twitch streamer recently noticed something in one of the game’s maps that made him and his community very emotional.

The user was busy checking out the new changes in Kinetic Games’ ghost hunting title Phasmophobia when something caught his attention in a clip taken from Dream Warriors most recent stream. He spotted a framed picture of a lizard in the hallway of one of the game’s current maps, which he immediately recognized. DreamWarrior became overcome with emotion in a matter of seconds, while people in the chat who knew what the image was alluding to left kind words.

Anyone unfamiliar with the channel or viewing the 60-second clip without context may be unaware of what had elicited such strong emotions in him and his community. The lizard in the photo is named Lee, according to a recent Reddit post, and was a beloved pet of the streamer who sadly passed away last year. The thread goes on to say that the Phasmophobia studio contacted content creators to request images that could be inserted into the game as part of a planned update. Kinetic Games appears to have included Lee in the game as a tribute in this case.

This is a touching departure from the game’s usual terror, given that the indie ghost hunting horror game is known for its scares. It’s difficult not to be affected by DreamWarrior’s reaction. It’s unclear whether he was aware that the image would be included in the next update. In any case, it’s clear that he had no idea which part of the game Lee would be inserted into, based on his reaction.

Given the game’s enormous popularity, which is only expected to grow during the Halloween season, it’s no surprise that Phasmophobia has become one of Steam’s most popular titles. It’s a testament to the studio that it would be willing to put in such an emotional tribute to the streamer’s late pet, despite the game’s huge success. It’s not always about frightening opponents.
