Ph1lza Discovery

While testing the latest Minecraft snapshot live on his Twitch channel, popular Minecraft streamer and creator Ph1lza revealed hidden mysteries in ancient towns. These secrets reveal a harrowing tale of a prior civilization’s demise.

Ancient cities are ruined complexes that will be included in a future Minecraft update with the deep dark biome. They hold chests brimming with valuables, like Swift Sneak magical books, regeneration potions, and charmed golden apples to aid them in their fight against the Warden. They appear to have a tale for gamers to discover as well.

Ph1lza discovered a mysterious layer lurking beneath an ancient city when flying about hunting for where chests will spawn in the next 1.19 Minecraft update. He discovered a series of hidden rooms filled with weird redstone contraptions, secret experiments, broken glass windows, and utility blocks found in villages. He joked that it might be lore when he saw it. And, while he thought he was joking at first, he later realized that it could be true Minecraft lore.

Ph1lza said, “Someone lived down here. Maybe this was a peaceful location and then it was corrupted by the Warden and the deep dark. An experiment gone wrong unleashed this and it spread into the above world.”

He resumed his exploration of the ancient city and discovered yet another unusual edifice. This one was constructed of vividly colored wool and contained a smoldering bonfire. He began to believe that there may be some lore about ancient towns at this time, and he began to investigate it further with his chat.

He continued; “It’s looking like there was an outbreak, right, like people lived down here, did whatever they did, scientists chilling in the middle, maybe in secret cause that looked kind of secret, and then through experimentation of these blocks, right, they brought about the deep dark and it spread.”

Ph1lza then had a major revelation about the sculk catalyst block after mentioning this. Sculk catalyst blocks are one-of-a-kind blocks that spread when entities die near them in Minecraft. Recognizing this, Ph1lza hypothesized that the reason sculk catalyst bricks blanket the whole old city, the deep dark, and spread out into nearby caves could be because all of the ancient city’s inhabitants died.

He said; “Oh my god, I just realized something. It spread because everyone died. Dead things, remember, causes this stuff to spread. Kill something near it, it spreads. There was a city of people down here and this spread from them dying.”

Perhaps villagers from Minecraft’s past resided in these cities until the Warden and the deep dark enslaved them. Evidence found in ancient cities suggests that the city may have had secret scientists undertaking experiments that resulted in the city’s downfall and destruction.

Ph1lza concluded; “It’s a city. It’s an ancient city. A city isn’t a city without people. There were people here and they all died and this is all that’s left.”
