PayMoneyWubby Mind Blown by $100k Bid

Twitch streamer PayMoneyWubby was watching an NFT auction of a video of his bathroom when a $100,000 offer was made, sending him and his friends into a frenzy.

The market for non-fungible tokens, or NFTs, is a very turbulent place. Prices might range from being utterly worthless to being worth millions of dollars. While streaming a joke-auction of an NFT he devised, Twitch streamer PayMoneyWubby discovered just how chaotic the NFT market can be.

Wubby hosted a party with friends on October 28 while broadcasting to celebrate the auction of an NFT he constructed. Wubby’s restroom was the topic of the NFT, which was appropriately called “#NFTurd.” The video of the “NFT turd” looped at the top of the stream, along with the ticker that displayed the current highest bid.

The auction began with a price of just under $6,000. As the night went, the bid continued to rise, eventually reaching $20,000. When a surprising offer of $100,000 came in, Wubby and his friends were completely taken aback and proceeded to the auction website to double-check that it was true.

Wubby stated after the bid was confirmed. “I just sold a video of my poop for one-hundred-thousand dollars.”

Wubby wanted to make sure the large bid was legitimate after the first shock of the massive bid had worn off so he wouldn’t get his hopes up. Wubby dug deeper into the payment details and discovered that he won’t know if the payment was received for three days after the auction ends.

Wubby explained after pausing the stream to explain what was going on; “So apparently the plan is to bid it up this amount, and then it will end and it will go back to the person who was the last top bidder in an attempt to 1) get fake hype and fake clout, and 2) guarantee the last top bidder to be the winner. So basically, someone’s just trolling right now.”

Wubby stated that he believes he knows who the fake bidder is and that he hopes they will come forward on their own. “It’s kind of disappointing,” he stated after watching the video.

Wubby stated he knew some of the people involved in the bidding process were genuine about their $20k offers, even if the $100k didn’t come through. Fortunately for Wubby, there is still potential for the infamous NFTurd to make a huge profit.
