NymN’s ‘booba’ Emote Is Removed

Twitch Streamer NymN was recently shocked and left confused after Twitch removed his ‘booba’ emote for sexual content.

Interacting with your community is one of the most important things for a lot of streamers. While viewers use donations and chat, they also use special emotes to communicate with their favorite streamer. These special emotes came from creator to creator and each streamer has their own personalized emotes that have different meanings.

Despite that, if Twitch finds and thinks that streamer’s emote breaches their terms of service or finds it inappropriate, they will immediately remove it from its platform and that’s exactly what happened to NymM’s ‘boob’ emote. He was very confused why it has been flagged for sexual content.

On August 17th, NymN revealed to his viewers that his ‘booba’ emote was banned by Twitch because according to them, it contained sexual imagery that was under the category of gasm-style emote that somehow breached their rules.

Also, of course many viewers were also confused over which exact aspect of the said emote has been flagged while, some assumed that it was because of the emote’s name and some suggest that it could be due to implications.

The Twitch statement said that the reason behind why it was banned was because the image itself has sexual content and nudity which contains sexualized torsos/bodily fluids. Majority of NymN’s community were not happy about it and got frustrated that Twitch suddenly has taken action against NymN’s emote and some says it has to be a mistake on their end.

NymN revealed that he is going to appeal the removal of his emote or just carry on without it on his chat. This isn’t the first time that Twitch did it to a creator and it certainly won’t be the last.
