NFLers And Twitch Streamers Pair Up

Last year’s Twitch Rivals Streamer Bowl logged more than one million viewing hours on the website. The Amazon-owned streaming company has scheduled it again for the year 2021 for February day 4th, three days before Super Bowl Sunday. The second seasonal Fortnite face-off between NFL teams and top Twitch streamers will take place following the weeks of preliminary tournaments and playoffs which start in mid-December and integrate viewers into the main game.

The NFL and the players’ union have pushed for the inaugural Streamer Bowl charity game, which premiered a few days before the 10th most viewed Super Bowl in history.

Coming back on the board in this year’s event made sense to the League and to the Union because it can touch a digital audience amidst this pandemic. Twitch broke many of its own records and started to see unprecedented attention as the epidemic continued to keep people mostly at home.

The financial ante will be doubled, and the charity prize will be 1 million dollars for the Streamer Bowl. The money they get will be divided amongst the top trios and given to organizations of each player’s choice just like they did last year.
