New World Release Date

Now that New World has finally been given a release date, it’s time to get a head start on the release date.

Amazon Studios has released a complete list of global unlock times for New World, which is set to release on September 28th. Originally, it was suggested that we would get a global launch, similar to World of Warcraft. This has been tweaked slightly to allow for a slightly staggered release. This should result in a less stressful global launch without penalizing specific regions.

New World will be available in five different local regions when it launches. The five regions will be Europe, Australia, South America, and the East and Western United States. The game is obviously available outside of those regions, but the New World servers will be based there.

On September 28th, Amazon will release the game in each region’s time zone, as shown in the image above. Amazon provided a global list of release times, including all PT times.

8 a.m. EST The EU servers will go live on September 27th at 11 p.m. PT.

BRT at 8 a.m. South American servers will go live on September 28th at 4 a.m. PT.

9PM Australian servers will go live at 9 a.m. AEST (9 a.m. PT*) on September 28th.

8 a.m. ET The East Coast Server will go live on September 28th at 5 a.m. PDT.

8 a.m. PT West Coast Servers will go live at 8 a.m..

Amazon explained why:

“In order to provide the best possible experience at launch, we’ve decided to launch our Australian server at the same time as the rest of the world. Due to the time difference, following the 8AM pattern for Australia would have resulted in a different “day” for other regions, and we wanted the region to be able to participate in the launch community elsewhere in the world, such as streams and website posts.”

As an Amazon studio, New World will undoubtedly promote Twitch Prime to players. New World has announced three incentives for players, so it appears that this will be the case from the start.

The Vinespun Weapon Skins, for example, can be obtained by watching a select group of 66 streamers who took part in the game’s closed Beta event. We don’t know how long you’ll have to watch, but based on Amazon’s previous Twitch Drops for the game, it’ll probably be one to two hours.

Then there are two sets of Twitch Prime rewards to look forward to. The two sets will be released on September 28th and October 12th, respectively, as shown above. Until November 1st, both are available.

A skin, an emote, and 5,000 Marks of Fortune, New Worlds’ premium currency for in-game store items, will be included in the first pack (currently cosmetic only). A sword skin, an emote, and three crests will be included in the second pack.
