Meowko Shares Her Creepy Experience
During a recent live broadcast after a viewer asked why she hadn’t streamed outside in a while, Twitch streamer ‘Meowko’ described her “creepy” encounter with a stalker during one of her IRL broadcasts.
Meowko is a Japanese streamer who has over 222,000 twitch followers and is known for her various gameplay, humorous outfits, and IRL streams set in various locations of Japan.
Thousands of creators have invested in the hardware required to make their streams mobile, and IRL streams have begun to take over the platform. However, as we’ve seen with streamers being hit by a car and others being banned after something inappropriate was broadcast on their stream, it doesn’t always end well.
Meowko has had problems in the past with her mobile streaming, and she recounted a disturbing experience she had with a stalker and during her November 9th live broadcast, she revealed the details about it.
When a viewer asked about her break from IRL streaming, Meowko replied stating; “I love going outside and I love IRL streaming. But it’s because of a stupid, creepy stalker, I’m feeling that one day I’m going to get killed.” She then went on to say that when she was rushing to her destination on a train, a man sat next to her and gazed at her, making her feel uncomfortable.
She explained further; “He didn’t say anything and he didn’t hurt me, but he bothered me. He was looking at me super close and just kept going,
Moving on to her conversation about the issue, Meowko agreed that the stranger could have been under the influence of something. She explained; “It was scary. I don’t want to be around somebody, be targeted, and get killed. He followed me around until the next day when I called the police.”
Meowko is one of several women on Twitch who have been stalked, with several other streamers claiming unsettling incidents of similar circumstances during their careers as entertainers. In the wake of this news, fans are expressing their support for Meowko, who is now afraid to stream outside because of her stalker.
