Ludwig Responds To Backlash Over Long Subathon

Popular Twitch streamer Ludwig Ahgren went live and hosted a subathon stream from March 14th until now. The reason for his very long stream is that he has given his viewers the power to dictate how long his stream remains live and each sub extends the stream by a set length of time.

Ludwig is running an uncapped subathon because he’ll stay up as long as viewers keep subscribing. When he started streaming on March 14th, it did not take long for the subs to start rolling in as his fans and viewers were determined to extend the countdown for as long as possible. He’s been sleeping regularly, taking breaks away from his computer to cook, shower, or work out, and he’s been regularly checking in with his housemates, many of whom are successful content creators in their own right. For now, he has been live for over 100 hours and he still has plenty of hours left on the timer. However, despite the popularity of his subathon stream, some people have criticized Ludwig’s subathon because he’s a popular streamer.

Because of this, he addressed and responded to the backlash during his stream stating; “It doesn’t feel like there’s a very obvious pattern streamers should follow. I think if I don’t go live for 11 days, and I’m gonna feel sad because my sub count lower, because I’ve tied some of my value to a number on a screen, that I wanna do a subathon to counteract that, that’s pretty normal.” He also explained that he will be donating about half the money he makes to charity, while also giving some to his mo
