Ludwig And Twitch Gambling Sponsorships

Twitch streamer Ludwig Ahgren discussed the recent controversy surrounding the Twitch gambling streams during his recent live broadcast as he came to the defence of those twitch streamers who take up gambling sponsorships.

Gambling streams on twitch have now become quite an issue in the community in the past few weeks with many streamers or personalities calling out to these kinds of streams to stop altogether as they might encourage gambling to their young viewers.

There are a lot of content creators and streamers on the platform who take up gambling streams as they sit and play slots, poker, or blackjack all day, with viewers tuned in to see them win huge payouts. While most of these streamers are professional gamblers, there are plenty of streamers who get involved because of sponsorships.

Ludwig Ahgren recently discussed gambling streams during his recent live broadcast as he came to defend Twitch gambling sponsorships after the popular speedrun star Clint Stevens said that streamers could simply choose not to accept gambling sponsorships.

While Ludwig himself also gambled, he has previously raised some issues on gambling streams especially when some streamers make it seem like they’re gambling their own money, and not money they were given from a site. During his live stream, he went on to respond to Clint Stevens’ criticism referring to streamers securing the bag as they grow more and more popular, as he stated; “Does he not f**king gets that people’s careers on Twitch last literally years and then it goes away? Like a few f**king years.”

Even though gambling streams might be a hot topic for now within the community, it seems like they are stuck around. Twitch has dedicated sections for casino games and beyond. Maybe they’ll change the rules on sponsored streams, but it’s also on streamers to be a bit more clever about things.
