LIRIK And xQc Risk Twitch Bans

Twitch streamer Felix Lengyel aka xQc and Saqib Ali Zahid aka LIRIK might face a potential ban on the platform after they refuse to obey the recent announcement of twitch regarding the canceling of the airing of Nintendo Direct on their official channel, after Nintendo said that streamers could not co-stream the event. Co-streaming is a very common way for streamers to watch events together with their viewers. However, it can take viewers away from the main broadcast but event organizers typically encourage co-streaming, as it can massively boost the overall viewership of their event.

Recently, twitch tweeted out an announcement surrounding Nintendo as they stated that the Nintendo have tweeted out from their official account that co-streaming is not allowed and because of this, twitch also cancels the airing of the event because all of the content creators can’t co-stream. Now, twitch streamer xQc and Lirik risk twitch bans after they recently co-stream the event themselves to their viewers. During the stream, Lirik was heard stating; “Are we doing this? Listen xQc, if we get banned because of Pokemon GO DLC, you know, that is one way to go down. I am fine sinking on that ship! Okay? I am okay with that.”

Then xQc joined in after seemingly sees how LIRIK was willing to take the leap of faith as he stated, “F**k it then! That’s f**king sick then. Okay, let’s sink!” Regardless of them willing to go down with the ship, the xQc and Lirik twitch accounts might get banned, suggesting that Nintendo’s request only applied to Japanese users. But the fact that both streamers were willing to put their accounts on the line by co-steaming Nintendo’s E3 event shows their commitment to content and entertaining their viewers.
