Kick’s New Feature

In order to protect their viewers, Kick CEO Ed Craven recently announced that they would be limiting the exposure of gambling and hot tub-related content.

On July 3, the platform’s official Twitter account announced the launch of new capabilities that let users hide particular kinds of information they don’t want to access. By going to their profile in the top right corner of the website, users can access this feature. From there, customers can select the appropriate check boxes to decide whether they want to hide Hot Tub streams, gambling streams, or both by clicking on “Settings” and scrolling down to the bottom of the screen. The community has responded to the implementation mainly favorably. One person said: “It’s crazy how fast they can implement changes unlike Twitch and YouTube”

Due to a number of variables, Kick has attracted a lot of interest in the streaming news environment. Notably, the platform has made notable hires, luring well-known people to join its ranks. It has, however, come under fire for being linked to Stake, a well-known gambling portal that Twitch has blacklisted. Ed Craven, CEO of the platform, recently disclosed implementing measures meant to protect users from offensive streams related with the gambling and hot tub categories. In addition, he claimed that the website has made changes to stop view-botting.

The news has certainly sparked a lot of positive comments. Some noted that even larger companies like Twitch have yet to take similar steps.
