JiDion Permanently Banned

JiDion, a Twitch streamer and YouTube prankster, was recently banned for 14 days for conducting a targeted “hate raid” against fellow content creator Imane “Pokimane” Anys. However, just days after being partnered, the Amazon-owned streaming platform opted to raise JiDion’s suspension to a permanent ban after receiving widespread criticism for his “sexist and misogynist behavior.”

JiDion tweeted on January 17th that his 14-day Twitch penalty had been upgraded to a permanent ban, probably in reaction to widespread outrage from the Twitch community over his targeted hate raid.

JiDion claims he “deserved to be banned” for violating Twitch’s rules of service, but he believes Twitch was unfair in permanently banning him.

In the video, JiDion stated; “I’m here to ask Twitch to make [the ban] fair because when Twitch first banned me, I got a 14-day suspension. But, after other people reacted to my ban and voiced their opinion of it not being severe enough, my 14-day suspension went to a perma-ban, which I feel is unfair. I feel that Twitch should keep my 14-day suspension, especially for a first-time offense and not let outside factors determine me being perma-banned.”

JiDion agreed that what he did “was wrong,” but maintained that if he isn’t given another chance to redeem himself, he will “do better next time.”

In a separate tweet, JiDion stated that regardless of the outcome, he learned from his mistake. JiDion also acknowledged fans’ support, tweeting, “I learned [about] how much u (sic) guys really love me, and I’ll be sure never to lose your guys’ trust.”

Twitch has yet to make a public remark on their current decision, and despite JiDion’s attempts to file an appeal, it is unlikely that Twitch would lift his perma-ban.
