James Tavernier’s Say On Steven Gerrard’s Future

Tavernier recently went live on streaming platform Twitch, and fans immediately flooded the comments section with questions about Gerrard’s future.

Rangers fans have flooded James Tavernier’s Twitch stream with questions about Steven Gerrard’s future. After Record Sport learned Tuelastsday that talks could start within 24 hours, the Ibrox manager is on the verge of a historic move to Villa Park.

Rangers recently confirmed that they had not received an official approach from Villa, but that is still the only direct communication fans have had on the subject. Tavernier’s reaction in the comments section when he went live on Twitch to stream Call of Duty: Warzone was predictable.

The Ibrox boss took a few moments to read some of the messages that had come in, the vast majority of which were about the ongoing Gerrard situation. Tavernier had not directly addressed the elephant in the room after a few minutes, but the comments continued.

So Tavernier finally spoke up, saying, he’s just hearing and reading what people have been hearing and reading.

Fans have expressed their displeasure with Tavernier for appearing to dismiss their concerns as the managerial situation remains uncertain.

While it is understood that players have the freedom to do whatever they want in their spare time, some believe he has failed to read the room by promoting a Twitch stream at a time when the club appears to be in disarray.

Steven Davis, who addressed the situation while on press duty for Northern Ireland, is the only other direct acknowledgement of the fans’ plight saying that if you’re doing a good job in football, there will always be links and said that Tavernier is doing a fantastic job, and that he have a great working relationship with him.
