Hit Clix and Squishymuffinz Banned By DMCA

The Digital Millennium Copyright Act or DMCA has been striking Twitch streamers who have clips or VOD’s with copyrighted music. Some Twitch streamers including streamers like Pokimane, Lirik and others have deleted almost all of their past clips and VOD’s which they have built up over the past few years. The counter seems to be to removing all VODs and clips from your channel even if they have only a hint of copyrighted material in it.

They are doing all that they can to keep their content on their Twitch channel by uploading them onto different platforms so that they will not be lost forever. Some of the twitch streamers have received DMCA bans like the guitarist of DragonForce Herman Li who got a DMCA strike because of playing his own band’s music on his guitar. Also the Fortnite Pro Cody Conrod aka Clix and Mariano Arruda aka SquishyMuffinz, who are both members of NRG Esports have also got banned due to DMCA strikes. Clix claimed through Twitter that this was his second DMCA copyright strike and that it was because of his donation sound. If he’s caught with even one more clip of VOD’s with even a tiny bit of music that he doesn’t rightfully own, he will get banned forever.

Squishymuffinz was banned right away with no strikes at all. Both Clix and Squishymuffinz have now been unbanned, but they still need to clear or delete all of their clips and VOD’s on their Twitch channel. Squishymuffinz stated; “Deleting all my VODs Clips ETC, not taking anymore chances in the future, thank you to the community for all the support I’ll try to stream tomorrow, gonna deal with the VODs and clips for today”.
