Hamlinz & Daequan Hiatus

Fans have been left in the dark as to why NRG’s Daequan and Hamlinz have been on a content creation hiatus in recent weeks. Philly, a member of the Thoom House, has cleared things up.

Daequan and Hamlinz, a hilarious duo, skyrocketed in fame when Fortnite swept Twitch and the internet at large. During their time under the TSM banner, they both took long breaks. After a year away from the spotlight, the couple emerged in August when they joined NRG and created the Thoom House with a few of their friends.

For the duo, this meant a return to Twitch, YouTube, and Twitter. After a flurry of content creation, they’ve both taken a break from streaming and YouTube. They’ve been active on Twitter, but haven’t responded to fan concerns about when content will resume.

After going live on Twitch on November 22nd, a member of Thoom House has thrown some insight on the situation. In terms of the group’s lack of content, he noted that they’re trying to shift away from YouTube challenges and focus on more IRL (in-real-life) content, but they’ve run into technological difficulties.

In regards to Hamlinz’s absence, he believes his comrade is taking some time off after going hard upon his return. Philly said, answering fan questions; “I think after streaming for so long, every day for a straight month, it gets you mentally. So, he’s just getting a refresh. And like, think about it, Hamz wants to do IRL content but he can’t, so he’s forced to stream video games, so he’s probably burnt out right now and taking some rest.”

Everyone is still in their house and “doing fine,” according to Philly, who is just waiting to do the content they want to do. At this moment, it’s anyone’s guess when that return will occur. Daequan hasn’t streamed since early September, while Hamlinz hasn’t streamed since early November.
