Fortnite Pro Player’s Mother Becomes A Pro Player

One of the best professional Fortnite players in the world’s mother has recently signed a deal with a gaming company to further her own career.

Since Benjy Fish AKA ‘Benjyfishy’ professional debut three years ago, Anne Fish, 58, has managed her son. According to the British gamer, she started playing the game in February to improve her comprehension.

She quickly grew a sizable online following and has since signed a paid contract with an esports company and said that she never imagined herself playing Fortnite, streaming online, or being able to be signed by an organization and that it’s really exciting for her.

Anne broadcasts her games to her 430,000 Twitch followers, and uploads videos of her matches to her 165,000 YouTube subscribers.

Anne lives in Sunbury-on-Thames, and will now be paid on a monthly basis by Galaxy Racer, an esports and gaming influencer organization. The contract’s terms were not disclosed, but Anne will now be compensated for videos of herself playing and conversing with fans on social media.

Before trying Fortnite, she says she hadn’t picked up a controller since playing on her eldest son’s Nintendo 64 about 15 years ago. At first, she was terrible. She simply camped and hid from other players in the event that she was killed but slowly, but steadily, she began to improve because her reflexes aren’t as quick as the younger players. She said that she needs to be more strategic and thought it would be fun to see if she could make it to the champions division on her own, which she amazingly did.

She entered a few competitions but has yet to win any cash prizes, and she still has a long way to go, but she’s trying.

According to the CEO of Galaxy Racer Paul Roy, they are thrilled to announce mamabenjyfishy as their newest addition to Galaxy Racer’s content creator team and that they are proud to welcome Anne into the Galaxy Racer family after she demonstrated her Fortnite skills at their recent tournament, The Aubameyang Cup, her years of experience in the industry, including managing Benjyfishy, and a shared passion for fostering greater inclusivity within gaming and esports.

Benjy, Anne’s son, thinks it’s “pretty crazy” that his mother is now a signed gamer added that it’s weird because he always wanted to be a gamer, and the fact that his mother is now technically a pro game streamer is pretty sick.

Also three years ago, he would have never imagined this could happen.

Multiple websites have ranked Benjyfishy as one of the top ten players in the world, and he was one of only a few British players to qualify for the Fortnite World Cup in New York in 2019.

He says he’s given his mother some advice but mostly “let her get on with it” in the room next door, where he competes in high-level tournaments for thousands of pounds in prize money.

Anne says she aspires to be good enough to compete against her son in a battle arena, but admits it would be a difficult task saying that it would be fantastic if she could compete against her son in a World Cup but the skill gap between Benjy and her is so wide that she don’t think she’ll ever be able to compete at that level but assured everyone that she will give her best shot.
