Aydan “Shadow-Banned” In Warzone

In the past few months, streamers and gamers have been dealing with a lot of cheaters in the game Call of Duty Warzone resulting in them calling out Activision. Because of this, Activision made a move recently, banning 60,000 players. However, it seems that some of their moderation might have affected innocent players.

Aydan Conrad or simply Aydan on twitch, one of Warzone’s most notable twitch streamers, announced on his twitter that he has been shadow banned from Warzone. He wrote; “I got shadow-banned on Warzone… wtf?”

Shadow banning is the practice of blocking or partially blocking a user or their content from an online community so that it will not be readily apparent to the user that they have been banned. In Warzone, shadow ban is typically when a player has been removed from the wider pool of players in matchmaking, and placed into matches filled with more cheaters and hackers. Many gamers have been complaining and reporting that this is happening to them. It is also unclear as to why this is exactly what has happened to Aydan too.

According to another twitter post of Aydan, he claimed that he’s seen his followers claim that bigger players are cheating, the site believes it’s possible that’s what happened in this instance. Regardless, Activision hasn’t made an official statement on why the well-known pro is presently banned.
