Asmongold Plays Final Fantasy XIV

World of Warcraft twitch streamer Asmongold recently gave the game Final Fantasy XIV a shot for the first time and it ended up successfully as he gained a massive amount of subscribers; over 7,000 during his first stream.

Asmongold is a popular streamer on twitch well known for his World of Warcraft gameplay. But recently, after years of requests from fans who wanted to see his reaction to Final Fantasy XIV, Asmongold downloaded the game and made a character full of pomp and circumstance.

During the stream, Asmongold started off his stream with a bang as he appeared to be wearing cat ears to prepare for the world of Eorzea. Once he finally started to play the game, Asmongold milked the game for every bit of content that he could and spent no fewer than 30-minutes in the character creation screen alone testing and changing every possible option for his toon “Asmongold Bald.” Throughout the stream, he dealt with countless players following him around as he leveled his character.

According to the Twitch tracking website Sully Gnome, Asmongold’s 10-hour stream averaged 145,320 viewers and had 1.47 million hours watched. Asmongold quickly eclipsed 100,000 concurrent viewers and was well over 200,000 viewers by the time he actually started playing FFXIV.

After Asmongold hit level 20 in the game, he decided to call it a day and announced on twitter that he will be back tomorrow for more FFXIV gameplay. Twitch streamer Asmongold claimed that he gained 7,000 new subscribers in just this one stream alone. Add onto this any donations and ad revenue he received, and it’s safe to say he earned well over $30,000 for this one Final Fantasy broadcast.
