Asmongold And Racism Issues

World of Warcraft twitch streamer ZACK aka Asmongold has recently discussed the racism that he witnessed in the community of World of Warcraft stating that it was super serious as the discrimination he’s seen is some of the worst stuff a human can ever do. World of Warcraft or simply WoW is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) released in 2004 by Blizzard Entertainment.

Similar to other MMORPGs, the game allows players to create a character avatar and explore an open game world in third- or first-person view, exploring the landscape, fighting various monsters, completing quests, and interacting with non-player characters or other players.

However, it seems like the WoW community is facing a problem right now with some streamers including Nick Polom aka Nmplol who talked about this during his recent stream stating that he hoped everyone would stop playing the game after he encountered some WoW pro players who were racist towards him. Nmplol says that he’s having a bad time playing the game due to the racism in the community and that he was happy that Asmongold was playing another game for the meantime.

Now, twitch streamer Asmongold shares some insights about the issue and agrees with nmplol’s statement. Asmongold supported nmplol’s claim stating that he also witnessed a super serious racist incident when he was playing.

While watching nmplol’s clip, Asmongold started sharing a story he once witnessed about some racist players as when these players found out that there was a guy who was black, they immediately kicked him out of the guild. But that’s only the beginning, as the players re-invite him back into the guild and go on to ask him some racist questions such as if he was “still black.” Then, they kicked him once again while snickering amongst themselves.

His comments seem to support Nmplol’s recent claims that racism is running rampant in World of Warcraft, particularly in professional circles, and it helps raise awareness, and hopefully change.
