Andrew Callaghan’s Content Is Influenced By Streamers

Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel and other Twitch streamers have influenced Andrew Callaghan’s content to some extent, according to Andrew Callaghan, the host of Channel 5 on YouTube.

The spiritual successor to All Gas No Brakes, which the crew lost control over due to a contract dispute, is Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan, a YouTube channel that describes itself as “a completely independent, digital journalism experience.”

Andrew and his crew approach people at a variety of events, such as pick-up artist boot camps, punk performances, rallies, rap festivals, and more, in each episode. This leads to some fascinating and frequently amusing encounters. It’s become a popular thing for Twitch streamers, including xQc, to watch and respond to. Andrew shared how their reactions have inspired his writing in a recent Q&A with Andrew, xQc, Pokimane, and others.

When the interviewer questioned Andrew if he enjoyed having xQc watch his content, the subject came up. Andrew replied, staring at xQc; “yeah, I’ve always liked your reactions, so thanks for doing those.”

In response, xQc stated; “No, you don’t have to thank me. You make my job so much easier,”

Andrew also talked about how xQc and other streams have an impact on his content saying; “You guys react fast when it comes out. So, I always know if it’s funny or lukewarm because I watch you guys react to it. I’ll be like, if you laughed at this part, it’s good. If you didn’t, it isn’t.” He acknowledged that xQc, in particular, is really beneficial adding; “I know what you laugh at because you’ve reacted to every one of my videos for a year and a half. So, I watch them, and I’m like, f**k I hope he likes this part.”

As it turns out, Andrew and Twitch streamers have a mutually beneficial relationship, at least according to the host. Andrew’s fame in the streaming community, on the other hand, extends beyond the reactions to his Channel 5 videos. Hasan even requested him to join his livestream, and their reaction to the hit “Island Boy” rap video went viral.
