xQc Regrets Allowing Fans to Make Video Donations

During a video-watching stream, Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel invited his Twitch fans to make media-share Twitch donations, but he quickly regretted the idea after 1,405 videos and 14 hours of content piled up in seconds.

On Twitch, xQc is one of the most popular streamers. His channel now has 70,878 active subscribers and is rated eighth in terms of all-time peak active subscriptions. In addition, he earned the second-highest profits since September of this year. It’s no wonder, however, that he has a significant backlog of media-share donations. It’s a StreamLabs Widget that allows viewers to send streamers films and songs to play when they tip them, for those unfamiliar with the phrase.

On-stream, he nonchalantly provided fans a glimpse of his backlog. It occurred after he had completed watching a video. He dragged the line in front of everyone’s eyes, leaving them stunned.

It not only had 1405 videos, totaling 14 hours of content, but it also demonstrated how much money people are prepared to pay for him to play them. Donations ranged from as little as $2.50 to as much as $200.

He did it, though, to demonstrate to viewers why he wanted them to stop. He said; “If you can still hear my voice and you’re donating, actually stop. I thought we only had like two hours filtered and two or three hours unfiltered.”

He then exclaimed “That’s 15 hours. We’ve never had this much before. This is way too much.” He didn’t want to disappoint fans who had already donated, though, so he decided to see it through. “It’s okay. We’ll see how it goes.”

The reveal has sparked a lot of discussion on social media. It served as a reminder to fans of how popular he is and how far they are prepared to go to communicate with him.

People are also speculating how big his upcoming Twitch subathon will be. It was first announced by the French-Canadian streaming service in April 2021, but it was then postponed till further notice.

xQc calculated how much money he’d make from the backlog during his media sharing stream. For 14 hours of video, the cost came to roughly $18.5k.
