xQc Banned

One of the biggest twitch streamers in the world, Felix Lengyel aka xQc has been issued a temporary suspension from the Twitch platform due to stream sniping during the GlitchCon Twitch Rivals tournament. Stream sniping is a practice that has developed alongside the expansion of streaming on platforms like Twitch and YouTube. Snipers watch streamers play a game online and use that information to join the same game with the goal of either assisting or foiling the streamer’s efforts.

xQc, recently entitled as the highest-earning streamer in the world this year, is also no stranger to controversy. During the recent GlitchCon Twitch rivals tournament during the game Fall Guys, xQc was caught stream sniping against DrLupo’s and shroud’s team. After this incident, xQc apologized on Twitter stating that his actions were wrong and that what he thought would be funny turned into something malicious. Because of this, he was temporarily banned from the platform and Twitch Rivals. It is still unclear for how long xQc’s account will be suspended.

Twitch Rivals tweeted out; “At GlitchCon our player conduct rules were violated. We require all participants to abide by the same rules in order to play in a tournament. As a result, xQc has been issued a temporary Twitch account suspension, a temporary Twitch Rivals ban and forfeited associated prize money”.
