Valkyrae Jokes About Plans

Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter, a popular YouTube Gaming star and co-owner of 100 Thieves, announced earlier this month that she had around 198 hours left on her exclusive streaming contract with the Google-owned content platform; an occurrence that Valkyrae claimed got her in trouble.

Valkyrae has continued to broadcast to her fans since then, and she is nearing the end of her contract responsibilities. Many fans were left wondering what Valkyrae’s next steps would be, but she viewed it as an opportunity to troll her supporters by joking about her retirement.

In a YouTube Livestream, Valkyrae joked that she will be 30 in a few weeks. She stated; “I understand you zoomers and youth can stay up all night and eat your hot Cheetos, but Granny Rae can’t do stuff like that anymore.” She then continued stating; “Granny Rae is gonna be over the hill in about a few weeks,” before bursting out with laughter. With a smile on her face, she added; “It’s almost time, it’s almost time to retire.”

Valkyrae was, of course, joking about her retirement, though many fans in the Live Chat weren’t amused, as her joke clearly hit a nerve.

One user even commented; “Rae, are you actually retiring or did you mean retiring from YouTube.”

Valkyrae has stated that she might “pivot” away from streaming in the future to focus more on her business and investments, although she does not know when that will happen. 

We don’t know what Valkyrae plans to do when her YouTube contract expires, but our best bet is that she will extend it and continue to broadcast on the platform.
