The Twitch Research Community

Twitch has long been a popular location for video game content creators and livestreaming in real life. Everyone saw how much money streamers like xQc and Asmongold had made streaming on Twitch thanks to a huge Twitch leak from late last year.

Twitch, on the other hand, has a bad reputation when it comes to how they treat their artists, despite the fact that they pay generously. For example, popular streamer Destiny was recently banned indefinitely from the platform, seemingly out of the blue, and has no idea why.

The dark side of Twitch is the result of sporadic bans, favoritism, and poor communication.

With reports that other top streamers are leaving Twitch for YouTube and Facebook, Twitch needs to find a way to entice them to stay. According to sources, the platform is finally taking user input seriously and striving to improve the streaming experience on the site.

On May 3rd, Twitch user AbridgedGoku2 created a discussion wondering about an email they had received. The streamer mostly wanted to make sure the email was legitimate and not a phishing hoax. The streamer received a remark from a Senior Program Manager of Customer Social Experience at Twitch within hours after initiating the thread, assuring them and everyone else that the emails were genuine.

It turns out that the email’s contents are getting people thrilled. Twitch was “reaching out to creators to hear your ideas and feedback on how to make Twitch an even better environment for you and the rest of the community,” according to the email.

Twitch gave streamers with numerous opportunities to get their voices heard. Selected broadcasters can either complete a survey or chat with Twitch Staff one-on-one via video call. Streamers will also have an added motivation to finish the surveys, as some may be eligible for Amazon e-gift cards if they complete the longer ones.

Because there is currently no information on the specifics of the poll in question, it’s difficult to say whether the project will result in any changes at Twitch, although listening to the audience is surely a positive move. Anyone interested in joining the Twitch Research Team will have to wait for an email for now. Users should remain vigilant for scam emails, since any email received from a Twitch.tv address could be false.
