Summit1g Apologizes

Cheaters and hackers are probably one of the main problems of the game for developers, gamers and streamers. Cheaters can make a lot of money by developing and selling their hacks. The game Call of Duty’s Warzone battle royale has one of the best examples of cheaters which is ruining the game and because of these cheaters, some top players have even quit tournaments. The game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive still faces a lot of cheaters in the game even though the game is almost a decade old.

Due to this, many have been blaming the developers of the game for lack of trying to get rid of the cheaters. Recently, the popular twitch streamer Jaryd Russell Lazar aka summit1g wrote a rant on his twitter regarding the cheating issue in some games. He first wrote on twitter; “Why do Triple game studios still have problems with cheaters? I just don’t understand how you’re ok with letting your game and consumers get shit on. Invest some fucking money.” It seems like this tweet reached the game developers as one game developer Alanah Pearce came out with an answer explaining that it is not so simple.

Alanah Pearce stated; “Because it is extremely difficult (impossible in some cases) to prevent. It doesn’t mean devs are okay with it and it doesn’t mean a lot of money isn’t consistently being invested. Game development is pretty hard, turns out”. Shortly after, summit1g responded again dragging the game Valorant and arguing that it had managed to remain relatively cheater-free. Now, on summit1g’s January 31st twitter post, he apologized for his previous tweet stating that it was an “ahole comment.” He wrote; “I know devs are doing their best. I apologize for the whole comment. Just gets a little frustrating.”
