Sodapoppin Ad Read Goes Wrong

Chance ‘Sodapoppin’ Morris, a Twitch streamer, was given the opportunity to co-stream The Game Awards on his own channel, sponsored by Bacardi, but he absolutely fluffed one of the important ad reads.

On December 9, the Game Awards were held, with awards given out for the top games of the year as well as trailers for upcoming titles. Twitch streamer Sodapoppin was co-streaming the show on Twitch when something went horribly wrong with his ad for the stream’s main sponsor.

The event’s co-stream was sponsored by the spirits brand Bacardi. Soda received a bottle of Spiced Bacardi from the brand, which he used to make a drink immediately before the show began. He chopped up a lemon and blended it with Coca-Cola, and while the drink appeared to be well-made, it turned out to be deceiving.

As he took a sip of the Bacardi drink he winced and said, “I love it. That’s.. good stuff. That tastes just like what I want it to be, Bacardi.” Even though he took the slightest of swallows, Soda struggled to finish the drink. The streamer summoned the bravery to do what he could and put on a pleasant face for the commercial.

Because of this, his audience laughed at his tormented taste buds as he read the failed commercial.

Despite the fact that Soda got the bag from the Bacardi ad, the free alcohol they sent him may have ended up in the garbage by now. But, as the saying goes, no publicity is bad press, and with over 40,000 views on the video, this ad was certainly a lot more viral than the sponsor had anticipated.
