Rubius Is Banned On Twitch

Rubius, a Spanish Twitch streamer, allegedly broke an embargo with Sega by streaming Sonic Frontiers before the game was formally published. As a result, Rubius lost his Twitch relationship and was banned from Twitch.

Rubius is undoubtedly one of the most well-liked Spanish-speaking streamers on the video livestreaming site, with over 13 million Twitch followers. Fans were astonished when, just after coming online on Nov. 7, the well-known content creator was both banned and deprived of his partnership status.

Prior to the event, Rubius tweeted his intention to go live with a shakily sketched image of Sonic the Hedgehog along with the phrase “gotta go fast.” The Spanish streamer’s channel was swiftly pulled down after gaining over 30,000 views and loading up Sonic Frontiers, which is scheduled to premiere tomorrow, November 8th. Immediately after installing the game, Rubius asserted on Twitter that Sega had told him he would be able to stream it.

Rubius said, according to Twitter’s translation; “Sega sent me a code for Sonic Frontiers. In the email, they told me that there is no embargo and I can stream it now. Sega proceeds to ban me from Twitch. WTF,”

In addition to his allegation, Rubius included a screenshot of Sega’s email, which seems to support his assertion. Fans swiftly came together to support the hugely popular Twitch personality after learning that he had lost his relationship and been temporarily suspended from the network. Rubius’ channel is currently still unavailable, with the message “content from this channel has been removed at the request of the copyright holder” appearing.

There is a slim chance that Rubius’ channel will soon be reopened. Under Rubius’ tweet, Sonic the Hedgehog’s social media manager, KatieChrz, commented and promised to look into the apparent misunderstanding between Rubius and Sega.
