Raquel Banned From Twitch

Raquel Banned From Twitch

Although she is also a musician, American streamer Raquel appears to be following in Amouranth’s footsteps and has amassed over 65,000 followers on her Twitch channel for her hot tub streams.

The platform is quite tolerant of these steamy streams, and since last year, it has created an entire category specifically for this kind of content. Due to how frequently it goes viral, many streamers have even claimed that Twitch gives this kind of video special priority. That’s not far from the truth, yet on occasion, authors manage to violate the platform’s hazy rules and end up being banned.

A streamer by the name of Kimmikka was recently banned for having an intimate moment with her lover in front of thousands of viewers. However, occasionally the platform’s prohibitions are unjustified, as was the case with Kyootboot when she was punished for including a “spicy” link in her bio—spicy as in food—spicy.

Raquel simply smashed a cupcake with her bottom to wish one of her viewers a happy birthday; she didn’t do anything as obscene as the first streamer.

She actually deserved the suspension more because she consumed the cupcake after stamping on it. Raquel revealed that the email she got from Twitch that she had been suspended for engaging in “sexually suggestive conduct.”

The streamer speculated that it was because of the “cake on cake” moment in her stream, but the platform rarely gets this precise when issuing bans. It’s not too horrible, though, because she won’t be gone for very long—her suspension is only for three days. Later, Raquel made the implication that she had attempted to go viral on purpose in order to sell her new song, which ironically is about being an e-girl and Twitch ‘not comprehending’ the joke.

She wrote on Twitter, “When the satire is good, you get banned.” One follower concurred that this was one of “the best bits of satire” he had recently seen, and another seemed disappointed to have missed her stream.

If other streamers start to imitate Raquel, this has all the makings of a new craze, which would be a dreadful waste of baked goods if nothing else.
