PewDiePie Gave Verdict

Recently, popular streamer Ludwig Ahgren secured an exclusive broadcasting deal with YouTube Gaming, becoming the latest in a long line of broadcasters to abandon Twitch.

Twitch is losing a significant portion of its top talent as more and more of its most well-known broadcasters opt for YouTube’s exclusive broadcasting contracts. Social media giants like TimTheTatMan, Dr Lupo, Lazarbeam, CouRage, and Valkyrae, who joined with the platform in early 2020, are among the major names to make the jump.

On November 29th, Ludwig followed suit and made the switch, fueling speculation about what this could signify for Twitch’s future.

Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg, the most-subscribed independent YouTuber, is at the top of the list of existing YouTube-exclusive content creators, with over 110 million subscribers. PewDiePie seemed thrilled about the situation when questioned about broadcasters like Ludwig and Valkyrae switching over to YouTube during a live stream.

He read aloud a statement from his chat stating; “A lot of creators getting paid to stream on YouTube lately,” in response, he Pewds stated; “Nice! Get paid! Get that cash. Good for them. I’m glad they’re able to do it. I was a little cautious, because I… you know what, I don’t need to talk about my deal. It doesn’t matter. I’m very happy. … I’ll tell you all about my experience in due time.”

PewDiePie, who formerly streamed on DLive, has also signed an exclusive contract with YouTube Gaming for summer 2020. Despite the fact that he didn’t go into detail about his YouTube partnership, it’s evident that he’s happy with it and hopes that other streamers have similar success.
