New Website Shows Streams With Absolutely Zero Views

Making it big on Twitch is extremely difficult. All of the success stories we hear about are from the top 1% of users on the platform. But what about the other 99 percent, or the one percent at the other end of the spectrum, those with no viewers at all?

A website created by Jack Kingsman connects viewers with those who don’t have access to the internet, and it’s actually pretty charming.

PC Gamer recently interviewed Kingsman about Nobody.live, a website that connects you to a Twitch stream with no spectators at random. Many streamers, even the most popular ones, claim that one of Twitch’s main problems is its lack of discoverability.

It’s why so many Twitch streamers also have YouTube channels where they promote their Twitch channels. Twitch, according to Kingsman, is greatest when it feels like a streamer is performing in front of a small crowd. He favors the more intimate moments made possible by being a channel’s lone viewer to the deluge of emoticons and mayhem of Twitch chats with thousands of participants. Kingsman also created the website to assist him cope with the loneliness he felt during last winter’s confinement. When he was away from his friends and family, he found solace in talking to streamers with whom he could have a genuine conversation without interruption.

Kingsman has maintained relations with other streamers who have seen their numbers climb from zero to around 15 since the platform started. It’s a bittersweet decision since, while they may be happier streaming to a larger audience, they’ll no longer be on Nobody.live.

The website’s randomness is one of its most enjoyable features. You have no say in who you watch, and there is no list from which to choose. Simply load the page, and a random stream appears in front of you. It’s similar to Chat Roulette, but without the randomness. If, in any case, Twitch’s terms of service are followed.
