MoistCr1TiKaL Offers $20,000

While you wait for Infinite’s co-op story and Forge modes to launch, if you’re an experienced Halo player seeking for a fresh challenge, this might be it.

Anyone wanting to accept it has been challenged by streamer MoistCr1TiKaL to finish a LASO run of Halo 2. The first person to accomplish it will receive $20,000 from Cr1TiKaL. It has never been done, at least not in recorded history.

Legendary All Skulls On, or LASO, is the abbreviation used to describe challenges. Technically, Cr1TiKaL isn’t asking a particularly accomplished Halo player to perform a LASO run. Actually, it’s a little harder. You must have all but one skull on to be eligible to win the $20,000 prize. The Envy skull, which enables Master Chief to become invisible and, if permitted, greatly simplify the run Other skulls in Halo 2 affect the way your shield recharges and makes foes more aggressive, among other things. All of these factors will significantly increase how difficult your run will be, and the worst is yet to come. In addition to everything else just described above, you also need to finish the run without dying once if you want to win the $20,000 prize money. If you fall even once, the game is ended.

With $5,000 on the line, Cr1TiKaL actually issued the first challenge earlier this month. The streamer drastically increased the prize pool in the hopes that it will attract more players and potentially weed out one who can actually pull it off after receiving nothing in return. However, it seems doubtful. In his own try at the challenge, Cr1TiKaL tapped out before completing the first mission’s second room. There is a very real possibility that applying all of Cr1TiKaL’s qualifications may make it impossible to finish Halo 2.

The longer it takes to find someone who can actually accomplish it, perhaps the streamer will keep raising the amount of money up for grabs. In terms of a Halo 2 experience that won’t make you want to encase your drywall in controllers, 343 is presently collaborating with modders to make the sequel’s E3 level playable.
