Streamer Codemiko is a twitch streamer and an internet personality. She is actually a cartoon prototype which looks like a young Asian woman. She revealed her face publicly. During one of her recent streams she was talking with another female streamer and then they started to talk about the new rule that twitch announced recently. The three terms such as ‘simp’, ‘incel’, and ‘virgin’ are some of the most common insulting terms used by Twitch viewers and streamers which is why twitch banned those words.

These new rules are supposed to come into effect January 22nd. Some people believe that the three words were banned due to the innumerable complaints of harassment and bullying on Twitch The Twitch platform has recently begun taking steps to create a more inclusive environment. The term “simp” especially, was very common and was effectively being used on an everyday basis.

A Twitch spokesperson has confirmed the change in the TOS, and said that the mere use of the terms in question, would not lead to disciplinary action. Instead, repeated use of the term to harass or bully somebody on the platform, will lead to action. During codemiko’s stream, it looked like she was surprised that “simp,” was getting banned on the platform, considering it was a commonly used word on Twitch. She stated during the stream; “Wait, we can’t say the word Simp anymore? Starting in January, what really? Oh my god! I am so f**ed!”
