Gootecks Responds To Twitch Removal Of His PogChamp Emote

Ryan Gutierrez most commonly known online as Gootecks is an American Street Fighter player and also the co-founder of Cross Counter TV. Ryan was previously the face of the popular Pogchamp emote on the Twitch streaming platform. PogChamp was an emote that intended to express excitement, joy or shock. However, the popular pogchamp emote was removed by twitch.

On January 6th, Gootecks wrote a tweet about the protests in America which the twitch platform deemed was “encouraging further violence.” Gootecks responded to the twitch removal of the emote. The Gootecks youtube channel Cross Counter TV uploaded a youtube video responding to the issue. Gootecks pointed out inconsistencies from Twitter and Twitch. He noted how Twitter made the decision to ban the US President’s account for “encouraging violence,” but not his tweet.

He stated in the video; “It’s not like Twitter isn’t going through people’s tweets with a fine-tooth comb to determine whether or not they’re inciting violence, am I right? And I’m not saying that I have the type of reach and influence that the President does. I’m just saying that I don’t think it’s a coincidence that my account got locked at after what I posted.”
