Favoritism

Favoritism

Favoritism is giving unfair treatment and favoring one person or group over another. It is a common problem everywhere and not surprisingly, allegedly, among twitch streamers as well.

Chess twitch streamer and E-Girls Rejects podcast host QTCinderella, claimed an occurrence wherein moderators are giving favorable treatment in issuing bans among streamers.

QtCinderella shared; “Somebody once donated a video of like half-naked cowboys doing like this…on their asses, and it sounded like a car driving by or something like that, and he ended the stream, and I was like you should probably delete your VOD cause if you got banned, you’d be so upset.”

She then continued and opened up how his apparent boyfriend and co-twitch streamer Ludwig Ahgren got away from his supposed punishment because of a moderator being a fan.

“Before he could even delete it, it was already deleted, and he got a message from his manager, and he was like yo you didn’t get banned cause my boss likes you, like straight up…that’s not okay, that’s literally favoritism, you can’t do that!”

Her comments showed her exasperation on how Twitch operates. The glaring favoritism and inconsistency they exhibit is unfair to small names and chill on big ones.

There are many more cases wherein moderators showed favoritism and are being criticized online recently. Examples of these are the recent Twitch bans that streamers and fans compare and describe the preferential treatment towards streamers.

An example of this is when a popular Twitch streamer by the name Forsen was banned for a total month after he accidentally showed an explicit horse GIF on his live stream while another streamer intentionally exposed herself on live stream and received only three days of ban.

Enraged twitch streamers and fans are wreaking havoc on social media due to this unfair ban policy.
