Exclusive Browser Extension

Ludwig has introduced an official browser extension for YouTube Gaming that delivers popular Twitch features to the platform.

As more Twitch streams move to YouTube Gaming, one of the most common complaints from fans is that the platform lacks some of the features that viewers have grown accustomed to on Amazon’s platform. BTTV shifted its emote catalog over to YouTube just days after TimTheTatman and DrLupo made the switch from Twitch to YouTube in September to help answer the growing desire in emotes.

Ludwig noted in a video posted on December 8th that Twitch offers a lot of capabilities that YouTube lacks, and he’s not happy about it — so he’s come up with a solution.

He engaged ‘ottomated,’ who has previously produced extensions for him, to create a brand-new Mogul.TV extension in order to improve the viewing experience for his 2.2 million fans. Ludwig explained; “Right now, this extension only works for Google Chrome, but it lets you connect your Twitch account so that if you become a member on YouTube, it would add up all your subs from Twitch, so you become a 22-month sub instead of a one month member. It basically makes it so you don’t waste hundreds of dollars on me.”

Ludwig also mentioned that the addon has a slew of other capabilities, with more on the way. Channel points, the option to change your name, all of his emotes, and the power to raid any YouTube video are just a few of them.

While the extension is now only accessible for Google Chrome, he stated that he is working with Otto to make it available for Safari and Firefox “very soon.” Despite having the highest Twitch subscriber count of all time, the creator joined YouTube Gaming on November 29th, just two months after DrLupo and TimTheTatman.
