Earthquake Strikes While Streaming

Amazon owned gaming platform Twitch has been so popular these days amidst the global pandemic where almost all events and work are limited. With the increasing popularity of streamers on the platform, many incidents have been caught live during their broadcast. This is what happened to the Twitch streamer Falconn2k who experienced a 7.0 magnitude earthquake while live streaming.

The earthquake hit parts of Greece, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, and Turkey. During the Twitch streamer’s live broadcast, we see that he felt the shaking and immediately ran off the camera. He gets up from his set up, likely to get to safety as his room shakes and the decorations in his room start to shake and his camera moves violently towards what looks like a door and curtains. Viewers also hear breaking glass.

Falconn2k is already back streaming and thankfully he’s okay. Unfortunately, this was a lethal earthquake for many. At the time of this reporting, there are already 28 confirmed deaths which were caused by the quake, and over 800 people injured, according to the BBC. What happened to the Twitch streamer during broadcast was scary and terrifying. As reported, part of the Samos Orthodox church collapsed, while weak buildings fell apart and the sea flooded some areas. Tsunamis were feared as well.
