Dr Disrespect Banned On Twitch

Dr Disrespect, the banned streamer who settled his lawsuit with Twitch about a week ago, is still unable to stream on the Amazon-owned video platform in any capacity—and it doesn’t look like that will change anytime soon.

After months of back-and-forth behind the scenes, the two-time singer declared on March 10th that he and Twitch had mended their dispute. Dr Disrespect was kicked off the streaming platform in June 2020 for unexplained reasons, and he filed a lawsuit against the corporation in late August of last year.

Dr Disrespect now claims that the disagreement has been “resolved,” with neither party admitting any wrongdoing. Despite all of this, the Doc is still banned. Users who try to access the star’s Twitch channel, DrDisRespect, are met with an error notice. “This channel is currently unavailable due to a violation of Twitch’s Community Guidelines or Terms of Service,” it says. Dr Disrespect’s profile has had that statement for 22 months. That isn’t likely to change anytime soon, either. There are two reasons for this. One is that Twitch’s ban is still in effect. The Doc may have been exonerated of any “wrongdoings” in relation to the suspension, but it still stands.

The second is that Doc’s connection with Twitch has entirely broken down. “The Doc will not return to Twitch,” the star declared on Twitter in response to all of his fans’ questions. Despite being blocked from the most popular streaming service, Dr Disrespect has been steadily improving in recent months. Between February 2021 and February 2022, the gaming star averaged 1.9 million hours watched every month, with a high of 2.69 million hours in his most recent month cycle.

According to statistics site StreamHatchet, these numbers earned him a 48 percent gain on his first year on YouTube, and a better peak record than he ever had on Twitch.
