Disguised Toast’s Plan To Avoid DMCA

Jeremy ‘Disguised Toast’ Wang has proposed a hilarious scheme that would allow him and other streamers to watch live TV without fear of a DMCA lawsuit.

Following his carefully engineered DMCA suspension, Disguised Toast has laid out his master plan for continuing to stream TV shows without being taken down. Twitch previously banned the popular streamer after he broadcasted episodes of the anime Death Note. Despite Toast’s claim that he launched this effort to “scare others” who watch anime, many streamers have jumped on the TV show streaming bandwagon. Valkyrae, Sykkuno, and Corpse Husband have all joked about streaming episodes of their favorite series since then.

During a recent Valorant stream, Disguised Toast discussed how he plans to prevent future DMCA lawsuits when streaming TV shows. After Sykkuno and Valkyrae joked about watching shows on stream, Toast came up with the idea, saying, “you guys want to watch it on stream together? I’m actually down to risk it.”

This obviously generated quite a stir in the chat, but Toast had already come up with a clever way to rebut the DMCA charges leveled against his show, “Here’s what we do, we stream it on an anonymous Twitch account, we do no cam, and we say it’s our cousin. Even if they ban us, it’s our cousin that’s doing it. If they ban that Twitch account, we don’t get banned. If our cousin is going to watch it, we may as well stream it together.”

The streamer then claimed to inquire about the name of the imaginary relative before proceeding to the Twitch sign-up page. Fans of Disguised Toast were clearly relieved that their favorite streamer didn’t fall for the hoax. After all, if there’s another DMCA strike, there won’t be any more pranks for a while.
